Redwood Outdoors Sauna Review: Models and Real Prices

A Redwood Outdoors sauna lists from $4,299 (indoor) and $4,899 (outdoor), but those prices are for the cabin only. Add a heater package, from $1,195 for a Harvia KIP 6 kW, to get the real price.

Several outdoor models showed a sale price against a higher regular price when I checked (the Duo at $4,899 against $5,899).

Redwood describes the Alcove as its easiest sauna to assemble, from prebuilt panels in a few hours.

The heater is extra

Redwood sells heater packages separately, with the electrical requirements stated on each: a Harvia KIP 6 kW is $1,195 (240V, 30-amp breaker, #10 wire) and a KIP 8 kW is $1,495 (40-amp, #8 wire). Wi-Fi and Homecraft heaters run $2,695 to $3,695. The sauna heater guide compares them.

With a KIP 6 kW, the Duo comes to $6,094, compared with $4,485 for Almost Heaven's heater-included Salem. The 6 person barrel comes to $6,494, which is good value for that size.

Cold plunges

Redwood also sells the Alaskan All-In-One cold plunge (37°F to 104°F, $6,999) and sauna-and-plunge packages from $12,199.

I'd look at Redwood Outdoors for a large barrel: the 6 person at $6,494 with a 6 kW heater is hard to beat, though check the room against the heater size calculator, since a 6 person room may need 8 kW. For a 2 person sauna, Almost Heaven's Salem is cheaper once the heater is counted.
