Sun Home Saunas Review: Specs and Prices Compared

Sun Home saunas cost $5,599 to $46,199 on Sun Home's store, and Sun Home publishes more electrical detail than most infrared brands. Its 2 person Solstice ($6,199) is the model most buyers will look at; it also sells cold plunges from $4,099.

Infrared saunas

Sun Home's indoor line runs from the 1 person Solstice ($5,599) to the 4 person Eclipse ($13,599). Solstice is far infrared only; Equinox is full spectrum; Eclipse adds red light. The Solstice 2 page lists 120V and 2,006 watts on a dedicated 20-amp circuit with a NEMA 5-20 outlet, a top temperature of about 145°F, and a weight of 522 pounds.

The outdoor Luminar is full spectrum and needs 240V: the 2 person model uses a 20-amp circuit with a NEMA L6-20 plug, and the 5 person model draws 7,200 watts on a dedicated 30-amp circuit.

Traditional saunas

Sun Home also sells traditional saunas. The Nova 3 uses a 6 kW HUUM DROP heater rated to 230°F for $12,499. The custom outdoor Solaris runs $37,199 (4 person) to $46,199 (6 person). For a traditional sauna, I think Almost Heaven's barrels and indoor rooms are much better value; see the Almost Heaven review.

Cold plunges

Sun Home's Cold Plunge Horizontal ($4,099) pairs a tub with a 1 HP chiller rated to 32°F, depending on the room, on a dedicated 15-amp GFCI circuit. It was the cheapest tub-plus-chiller from a major brand on the cold plunge shortlist. The Pro is rated to 28°F for $14,599.

For an indoor infrared cabin on 120V, the Solstice 2 is a solid choice because the electrical requirements are published in full. I'd skip Sun Home's traditional saunas on price. Its $4,099 cold plunge is good value on paper.
