Red Light Therapy Panel Buying Guide: Specs Compared
The red light therapy panels on this page cost $299 to $1,699 from Mito, Hooga, PlatinumLED and Joovv, and a full-height panel (about 3 feet tall) runs $1,049 to $1,699. Compare panels on wavelengths, size, power draw and price. Treat irradiance figures with care: each brand measures them differently.

This is a spec-and-price guide. It does not cover what red light does for your body, how long to use a panel, or any health claim a maker makes. Those are questions for your doctor. Every number below is the maker's own, from its product page on Oct 28, 2026.
The specs that matter
- Wavelengths: red is about 630 to 670 nm, near infrared 810 to 850 nm. Every panel here does 660 and 850 nm; some add more (Mito ADAPT lists eight).
- Size: the panel's height decides how much of you it lights from one position. Full-height panels here are 35 to 43 inches.
- Power draw: the watts the maker lists. Model numbers like 750 or 1500 are not the power draw: the MitoPRO 750X lists 225 W.
- Irradiance: light power per square centimeter at a distance. Useful within one brand, unreliable across brands (next section).
- Heat rating: only matters if the panel goes in a sauna.
Why irradiance numbers don't compare
Mito publishes two irradiance figures for every panel and explains why. On a consumer solar meter, the MitoPRO 1500X reads over 160 mW/cm² at 6 inches. On a lab spectroradiometer it reads over 73. Mito says consumer meters read the full spectrum and report higher numbers. Hooga quotes 183 mW/cm² at 6 inches for the PRO750 without naming the meter. Joovv lists "over 100 mW/cm²" without a distance. PlatinumLED publishes lab charts rather than a single figure.
So a bigger number on one brand's page does not mean more light than a smaller number on another's. Compare irradiance only between panels from the same brand, or when two brands name the same meter and distance.

- Power
- 445 W
- Size
- 10 × 43 in
- Weight
- 25 lb
The tallest single panel here at 43 inches, and the only brand that publishes both meter readings.
Joovv Solo 3.0

A small panel lights one area at a time. The Hooga PRO300 ($299) is the cheapest panel from these four brands, and the Joovv Mini ($1,099) is the most expensive small one. Mito and Hooga panels link together on a stand if you want to add a second later.
Panels for inside a sauna
A standard panel is built for room temperature. For use inside a sauna, Hooga rates its Ember ($700) and Blaze ($1,400) to 194°F, and PlatinumLED rates the SaunaMAX Pro ($959) to 150°F.
Hooga Ember Sauna Panel

The red light sauna guide covers these panels and the saunas that come with red light built in.
Common questions
What is the best red light therapy panel?
This page doesn't rank them, because the number buyers compare most, irradiance, is measured differently by each brand. On the specs that do compare, the Hooga PRO750 ($599) is the cheapest mid-size panel and the MitoADAPT MAX ($1,499) lists the most wavelengths, eight.
What size red light panel do I need?
Go by the panel's height. Small panels like the Hooga PRO300 (12.7 in tall) and Joovv Mini (14.75 in) light one area at a time. Full-height panels like the Joovv Solo and Hooga PRO1500 are about 36 inches tall. Mito and Hooga sell larger arrays of linked panels.
Why do irradiance numbers differ so much?
Different meters. Mito publishes two figures for each panel: over 160 mW/cm² on a consumer solar meter and over 73 on a lab spectroradiometer for the MitoPRO 1500X. Mito says consumer meters read higher. Unless two brands name the same meter and distance, their figures don't compare.
Can I use a red light panel in my sauna?
Only one rated for the heat. Hooga's Ember and Blaze are rated to 194°F and PlatinumLED's SaunaMAX Pro to 150°F. The other panels on this page are built for a normal room. The red light sauna guide covers sauna-rated panels.
How much electricity does a red light panel use?
Far less than a sauna. PlatinumLED lists 350 W for the BIOMAX 600 and 380 to 490 W for the BIOMAX 900, Mito lists 445 W for the MitoPRO 1500X, and Joovv lists 250 VA for the Solo. The Sun Home Solstice 2 infrared sauna draws 2,006 W.
